Presented here are three comic books from the “Amazing Spider-Man”. Created by renowned comic book writer Stan Lee and renowned illustrator Steve Ditko, Spider-Man made his debut in Amazing Fantasy #15, released in June of 1962. Spider-Man received his own run of comics, starting with “The Amazing Spider-Man” in March of 1963. The comic, featuring wisecracking teenager Peter Parker who obtains his powers after being bitten by a radioactive spider, follows the web-slinger as he navigates his teenage life, his relationship with Mary Jane, and his loving Aunt May while balancing his second life as a costumed superhero.

The first presented comic in this lot is issue #10 of “The Amazing Spider-Man” from March 1964. The issue was written by Stan Lee and illustrated by Steve Ditko. The issue features the first appearance of Daily Bugle journalist-turned-mobster Frederick Foswell, aka “the Big Man”, and the Enforcers: Fancy Dan, the Ox, and Montana. The comic features the wall-crawler in an all-out brawl against the Enforcers come features the “Comics Code Authority” stamp on the top right corner. The comic contains toned pages and elements of edging and cornering.

The second item is issue #11 of “The Amazing Spider-Man”, written by Stan Lee and illustrated by Steve Ditko. Spider-Man battles a mobster whose stray bullet during the melee ends up killing Bennett Brant, the brother of Parker’s friend, Betty. Spider-Man has to deal with the guilt from the death while fighting off Dr. Octopus, who has returned to battle the web-slinger once again. The cover features “The Amazing Spider-Man” across the top. The “Comics Code Authority” stamp appears on the top right corner. The cover features Spider-Man tangling with Dr. Octopus and his deadly tentacles, with “Doc Ock” having the upper hand. The comic contains toned pages and some elements of cornering.

The final comic is issue #12 of “The Amazing Spider-Man” from May of 1964 and was written by Stan Lee and illustrated by Steve Ditko. Spider-Man continues his fight against the evil Dr. Octopus that results in “Doc Ock” defeating and then unmasking the web-slinger. An incredulous public doesn’t believe it, and Dr. Octopus escapes. Spider-Man catches up with the evil Dr. and defeats him. The comic features a yellow cover with “The Amazing Spider-Man” across the top. The “Comics Code Authority” stamp appears on the top right corner. The price and an image of the web-crawler appear on the top right corner. The comic features elements of edging, cornering, and has toned pages. This entire lot of three Spider-Man comics from the historic first run of “The Amazing Spider-Man” are an excellent addition to any comic book fans collection and feature the iconic character at the beginning of his epic comic book run.
