Offered in this lot are three game used and signed bats from key players of the 1986 World Series Champion New York Mets. The first bat is a Louisville Slugger C271 model bat used by Keith Hernandez. The all-star first baseman was a key member of the 1986 squad, where he batted .310 with 13 home runs, 83 RBI and won his ninth gold glove. This bat displays light use and is un-cracked. Hernandez signed his name in blue marker on the barrel. Please note that Hernandez’s signature is smudged. His signature has been authenticated by Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication and comes with a corresponding COA (C99780).

The second bat in this lot is from World Series Game 6 hero Mookie Wilson. It was Wilson’s groundball that went through the legs of Boston Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner’s legs and scored World Series MVP Ray Knight to complete the improbable comeback and force a Game 7. Wilson’s bat is a Worth WC1170 model bat. This bat shows light game use with some bat rat streaks and is un-cracked. The model number “WC1170” is stamped on the knob. Wilson’s number “1” is hand written in black marker on the knob and top barrel. Wilson signed his name in blue marker on the barrel. Wilsons’s signature has been authenticated by Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication and comes with a corresponding COA (C99781).

The final bat in this lot was used by pitcher Roger McDowell. McDowell had 20 plate appearances in 1986, going 5-for-18 with three RBI and an un-pitcher-like .278 batting average. This Rawlings/Adirondack 460B model bat was used by McDowell. This bat shows light game use and is un-cracked. The model number “460B” has been stamped on the knob. McDowell’s number “42” has been hand written in black marker on the knob and top barrel. McDowell signed his name in blue marker on the barrel and inscribed “42”. McDowell’s signature has been authenticated by Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication and comes with a corresponding COA (C99782). This entire lot has been pre-certified by PSA/DNA for the game use.
