Toronto Blue Jays manager John Gibbons was a member of Jim Leyland’s American League coaching staff for the 2013 MLB All-Star Game held at Citi Field in New York. Gibbons, a former catcher for the Mets in the 1980’s, managed the Blue Jays for a total of 11 seasons in two separate stints. Included in this lot is Gibbon’s jersey from the 2013 All-Star Game and two batting practice jerseys worn during All-Star festivities.

The first item in this lot is a gray Blue Jays road jersey worn by Gibbons during the 2013 All-Star Game. This button-down Jays jersey has “TORONTO” sewn across the chest in white, blue, and navy tackle twill above a Blue Jays logo patch. “GIBBONS” is sewn across the back shoulders in blue tackle twill. His number “5” is sewn lower down the back in white and blue tackle twill. A MLB logo patch flanked by two gold and blue stars is sewn on the back outside collar. A 2013 All-Star Game patch is sewn on the right sleeve. A Majestic tag with an attached size “50” flag is sewn on the front left tail and a “5 ’13 S1” swatch is sewn on the back inside collar. Gibbons has signed the back tail of this jersey in blue marker, inscribing “Game Used 2013 All-Star Game” below his signature.

The second and third jerseys in this lot are both blue and orange button-down American League batting practice jerseys. The jerseys have a large American League logo patch sewn on the chest, while circular Toronto Blue Jays patches are sewn on the right sleeve and 2013 All-Star Game patches are sewn on the left. “GIBBONS” is sewn on the back of both jerseys in white tackle twill above a “5” sewn on the jersey in blue and white “stars and stripes” patterned tackle twill. a Majestic tag is sewn on the front left tail of each size “50” jersey. Gibbons has signed the “5” digit on each jersey, inscribing “Game Worn 2013 All Star Game” on both “5’s”. These jerseys all come with a LOA signed by John Gibbons.
