Offered in this lot are three game used and signed caps from members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. The first cap in this lot is a blue Seattle Mariners cap worn by Gaylord Perry. Perry signed the underside of the brim of the cap in black marker, inscribing “Victory 4-30-82” in addition to his signature. Perry beat the Yankees 6-3 on April 30th, 1982, pitching 8.2 innings of three-run ball to earn the 299th win of his career. Perry reached the 300-win milestone on May 6th, 1982 with a complete game win over the Yankees. Perry’s number “36” is handwritten in black marker underneath the brim of the size 7 ½ cap.
The second cap in this lot is a navy and red California Angels cap worn by Rod Carew. Carew has signed the underside of the brim of this cap in black marker. Carew played for the Angels from 1979 through his retirement in 1985. This size 7 ¼ cap is in good condition.
The final item in this lot is a blue and yellow Milwaukee Brewers cap worn by the versatile Hall of Famer Larry Yount. This Roman Pro hat is a size 6 ?. Yount played his entire career for the Brewers, collecting 3,142 hits from 1974 through 1993. Yount was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999. He has signed the underside of the brim in black marker with the inscription “‘83” below his signature. Yount’s number “19” is handwritten in black marker on the underside of the brim. Each cap in this lot comes with a JT Sports COA and a COA from Beckett Authentication Services (GP S59972, RC S59971, RY S59970).
