Offered in this lot are three signed post cards and cuts from Rogers Hornsby, Hank Greenberg and Harry Heilman. The Hall of Fame second baseman Hornsby has signed this postcard dated to August of 1951. Hornsby was one of the premier sluggers of his era, and to this day is still one of only three second basemen with 300 or more home runs in their career. Hornsby hit over .400 three times, and currently holds the second highest career batting average of all-time, at .358. He has signed the reverse side of this 2 ½ x 5 ½ -inch postcard in black pen. The name of the addressee and his Winter Park, Florida address are written in gray pencil on the other side of this postcard. This item comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication Services (A07865).

The second card in this lot was signed by Hall of Famer Hank Greenberg. Greenberg was one of the first Jewish superstars in American team sports and is widely considered to be one of the greatest sluggers in baseball history. He was the AL home run leader four-times and his 58 home runs in 1938 tied him at the time with Jimmie Foxx for having the most in a season by anyone except Babe Ruth. Greenberg still holds the AL record for most RBI in a single season by a right-handed batter when he drove in 184 runs in 1937 during a 154-game season. Greenberg signed his name in black pen and inscribed “Best Wishes” on this 3 ½ x 5-inch cut. This item comes with a LOA from JSA.

The last item is a signed envelope from Harry Heilman. Heilmann was one of the most feared hitters of the 1920s for the Detroit Tigers. A powerful slugger for his era, Heilmann walloped 152 home runs in his ten seasons in the live ball era. Where Heilmann shined brightest, however, was in batting average. He led the American League in batting average four times, peaking at .403 in 1923. Until Ted Williams came along, Heilmann was the last member of the American League to eclipse the .400 mark. A career .342 hitter, Heilmann was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1952. Heilman signed his name in steel tip fountain pen on this 3 x 4 ½ -inch envelope. This item comes with a LOA from JSA.
