Tennis great Jimmy Connors has signed this match used ESTUSA Jimmy Connors model tennis racquet. Connors held the top spot in the ATP ranking for 238 weeks of his career, including a then-record 160 consecutive weeks as the best tennis player in the world. The East St. Louis native won eight Grand Slam singles titles as a player from 1974 through 1983. Connors has signed the grip tape on the handle of the racquet twice in black marker. Additionally, Connors has signed the lime green racquet cover, inscribing “Ben Best Wishes” above his signature. Also included in this lot are two match-used white collared shirts. These shirts have four thin vertical red stripes going down the front and a Jimmy Connors “JC” logo embroidered in dark blue on the upper left chests. A “ROBERT BRUCE” patch is also sewn on each shirt on the upper right chest and McDonald’s patches are on the left sleeves. These shirts display moderate wear. Both of the shirts were used during Connors’ semi-final run in the 1984 US Open and were given to Doug Henderson following his defeat to John McEnroe. The racquet and shirts come with a Letters of Provenance from Doug Henderson for the use and a LOA from JSA for the signature.
