The legendary broadcaster Dick Enberg was presented with these three awards during his distinguished career. The first award is a Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission Sports and Entertainment Ambassador Award of Excellence at the Commission’s 7th Annual Golf Classic in May of 2006. Enberg, who was born in Michigan, made his name as a broadcaster in Southern California, calling UCLA basketball games as one of his first broadcasting gigs. This award takes the shape of a transparent obelisk that measures 10 inches tall and stands on a 2.5 x 2.5-inch square base. Printed on the award is “LA Sports & Entertainment Commission”, “Sports and Entertainment Ambassador Award of Excellence”, “Presented to Dick Enberg 7th Annual Golf Classic May 15, 2006”, and a LA Sports & Entertainment Commission logo. This historic award comes with a LOA from the Enberg family.

Enberg was presented with this Bluegrass Sports Tom Hammond Sports Media award in 2013 for his contributions to broadcasting. Enberg and Hammond were former colleagues, having co-presented the inaugural Breeders’ Cup in 1984 during their time with NBC. This offered award takes the shape of a clear plate, with “Tom Hammond Sports Media Award” and “January 31, 2013” printed on the border. The interior features a Bluegrass Sports Award logo and Enberg’s name. The plate measures 12.5 inches in diameter.

Enberg was inducted into the West Coast Boxing Hall of Fame in 2017. Enberg began his career as a boxing broadcaster in 1965, calling fights ringside for “Boxing From the Olympic” for KTLA in Los Angeles. Enberg served in this role for several years before joining NBC, where he occasionally served as a ringside announcer. Fights rewarded with Enberg’s commentary gravitas include the 1976 Muhammad Ali and Richard Dunn fight in Munich, Germany, and the 1979 bout between Gerrie Coetzee and Leon Spinks in Monte Carlo. This offered West Coast Boxing Hall of Fame trophy measures 10.5 x 6.5 inches at its widest dimensions. Printed on the award is the WCBHoF logo and “2017 / Dick Enberg / Ringside Broadcaster”. These item come with a LOA from the Enberg family.
