Offered is a lot of three vintage baseball photographs featuring the St. Louis Cardinals and featuring former Major League Baseball pitcher Hal Schumacher. The first item in this lot is an 8 x 10-inch black and white posed action photograph of Schumacher, pitching on the sidelines in a 1939 New York Giants uniform (note the 1939 New York World’s Fair patch on this left shoulder). His last name has been misspelled “Schumaker” on a white typed caption on the front of the photo. The second item in this lot is an 8 x 10-inch black & white photograph of nine St. Louis Cardinals players poised in front of their dugout, bats in their hands. The ACME wire service photograph has a caption pasted on the back, identifying the players pictured, from left to right:  Lou Klein, Harry Walker, Stan Musial, Walker Cooper, George Kurowski, Ray Sanders, Danny Litwhiler, Martin Marion and manager Billy Southworth. The caption reads “The Champs of the National League will meet the New York Yankees in the 1943 World Series this October.” The photo and caption are dated September 26, 1943. The third item in this lot is an 8 x 10-inch black & white posed group photo of 12 Major League Baseball players and officials, including Philadelphia Athletics owner and manager Connie Mack in the center of the back row in a suit and tie, with Hall of Fame slugger Babe Ruth kneeling in front of him in his New York Yankees uniform. The 12 men are posed in two rows, with five men kneeling in the front row. The teams represented in the photo include the Boston Red Sox, New York Giants, Pittsburg Pirates, Philadelphia Athletics, Washington Senators and St. Louis Browns.
