Offered is a lot of three Cal Ripken Jr. signed and inscribed commemorative baseballs representing milestone moments in the Baseball Hall of Famer’s career with the Baltimore Orioles. The first item in this lot is a Ripken signature and inscription on an Official 2001 All-Star Game baseball (Allan H. Selig, Commissioner). Ripken has signed his name in blue pen on the sweet spot, and inscribed “MVP” below his signature. The ball is inscribed “241/2001” in blue pen below Ripken’s signature and inscription. Above Ripken’s signature is a 34-cent U.S. postage stamp with a “Seattle, WA Cal Ripken Jr. July 20, 2001” postmark in purple. The Rawlings baseball has Emerald green and navy-blue stitches and emerald green stamping, including the logo for the 2001 All-Star Game, hosted by the Seattle Mariners. The game at Safeco Field, on July 10, 2001, was Ripken’s 19th and final All-Star Game, and his 15th at shortstop, a record. He hit a solo home run in the third inning to put the American League on top, 1-0, en route to a 4-1 victory. Ripken was awarded the game's MVP, becoming the fourth player ever to win two All-Star Game MVP awards. This item comes with a HOLO STICKER ONLY from Ripken, and a COA from Beckett Authentication (Q26150).

The second item in this lot is a Ripken signature, in blue pen, on the sweet spot of an Official American League Gene A. Budig baseball. The ball features a black stamp below the OAL/Budig stamp with the legend “Ripken 8 Orioles 2130 2131”, commemorating the all-time Baltimore Orioles greats’ consecutive games played streak. Ripken holds the record for consecutive games played, 2,632, surpassing Lou Gehrig's streak of 2,130 that had stood for 56 years and that many deemed unbreakable. He broke Gehrig’s mark on September 6, 1995 in an Orioles home game against the California Angels. This item comes with a STICKER ONLY from Ripken, and a COA from Beckett Authentication (Q26151).

The third item in this lot is a Ripken signature, in blue pen, on the sweet spot on the sweet spot of an Official American League Gene A. Budig baseball. Above the sweet spot is a 33-cent U.S. postal stamp with a September 20, 1998 postmark, “Cal Ripken, Jr. Baltimore, MD” in purple.  The ball is inscribed “757/2632” in blue pen below Ripken’s signature. On September 20, 1998, before the final home game of the season at Camden Yards against the New York Yankees, Ripken decided to end his streak at 2,632 games, having surpassed Gehrig's previous record by 502 games. Rookie third baseman Ryan Minor started in his place, at first thinking it was a rookie prank. Realizing that the streak was coming to an end, the fans, his teammates, and the visiting Yankees (with David Wells being the first to notice that Ripken was not playing during batting practice) gave Ripken an ovation after the game's first out was recorded. This item comes with a HOLO STICKER ONLY from Ripken, and a COA from Beckett Authentication (Q26152).
