Offered in this lot are four game used and game ready bats from the 1970s. The first bat was used by Jim Kaat. Kaat’s 1976 Hillerich & Bradsby S207 model bat displays excellent game use and is un-cracked. The bicentennial logo has been branded on the lower barrel. There is some checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact on the barrel. There are small mounting holes on the barrel that have been repaired. Kaat’s number “39” has been handwritten in black marker on the knob. Kaat has signed this bat in black marker on the barrel and inscribed “game used 1976”. Please not that the inscription is slightly smudged. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15040) for the game use.

The second bat was used by Mike Hedlund during the 1969-70 seasons. This Hillerich & Bradsby U1 model bat displays heavy game use and has a crack on the handle. There is checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact on the barrel. The number “23” is handwritten in black marker on the knob, which was another player’s number. Hedlund has signed his name in blue marker on the barrel and inscribed “KC Royals 1970-1971”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B17151) for the game use.

The third bat was used by Tom Burgmeier during the 1969 season. Burgmeier’s Hillerich & Bradsby O1 model bat displays light game use and is un-cracked. Burgmeier’s number “34” has been handwritten in black marker on the knob. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B17150) for the game use.

The fourth and final bat in this lot was used by “Sudden” Sam McDowell during the 1969-70 seasons. Sudden Sam’s Hillerich & Bradsby O16 model bat displays light use and is un-cracked. The number “48” is handwritten in black marker on the knob. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B17149) for the game use. The signatures in this lot have been pre-certified by Beckett Authentication.
