Presented is a lot of four ticket stubs from significant games in the career of Major League Baseball’s all-time Home Run leader, Barry Bonds. The first ticket stub in this lot is from Miami’s Pro Player Stadium, when the Florida Marlins hosted the San Francisco Giants on August 23, 1998.  Bonds hit his 400th career home run that Sunday afternoon, off Marlins pitcher Kirt Ojala in the third inning, deep down the right field line. The Giants won the game, 10-5.

The second ticket stub in this lot is from San Francisco’s Pacific Bell Park on April 17, 2001, when Bonds hit his 500th career home run en route to a 3-2 Giants win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Bonds hit a two-run homer off Dodgers pitcher Terry Adams in the bottom of the 8th inning to right field while the Giants were trailing, 2-1. Bonds drove home the winning runs.

The third ticket stub in this lot is from October 7, 2001, when Bonds hit his 73rd home run of the season, establishing a new single-season home run record.  Bonds slugged number 73 off Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Dennis Springer in the bottom of the first inning with two outs and no one on, en route to a 2-1 Giants win at Pacific Bell Park.  Bonds also set new records for slugging percentage (.863), walks (171), and home runs per at bat (6.52). He broke his personal record with 131 RBI and finished the season with a .328 batting average. His on base percentage (.515) was the best in the National League since John McGraw in 1900. Bonds became the oldest player to lead a league in home runs and became the oldest player to reach the fifty, sixty, and seventy home run plateaus.

The fourth ticket stub in this lot is from June 23, 2003, when Bonds swiped his 500th career stolen base. The hometown crowd at Pacific Bell Park witnessed a first in baseball history when Bonds became the one and only member of the “500/500” club – 500 home runs, 500 stolen bases – in the bottom of the 11th inning against the Dodgers.  With the game tied 2-2, Bonds was walked to lead off the inning by Dodgers pitcher Eric Gagne and stole second on a 1-0 pitch to Andres Galaraga.  Bonds would score the game-winning run one batter later a single by Benito Santiago.

Bonds played 22 MLB seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Giants. He received a record seven NL MVP awards, eight Gold Glove awards, a record 12 Silver Slugger awards, and 14 All-Star selections. He led the majors in on-base plus slugging six times and placed within the top five hitters in 12 of his 17 qualifying seasons. He holds many MLB hitting records, including most career home runs (762), most home runs in a single season (73, set in 2001) and most career walks.  Bonds stole 514 bases, becoming the first and only MLB player to date with at least 500 home runs and 500 stolen bases (no other player has even 400 of each).
