Offered in this lot are five game used, issued and game ready bats. The first bat in this lot is a Duffy Dyer Hillerich & Bradsby M110 model bat used by Hall of Fame closer Rich “Goose” Gossage. This bat displays excellent use and has a crack on the handle. There are several ball marks, stitch impressions and checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact on the barrel. This bat can be attributed to Gossage as the number “54” is hand written in red marker on the knob (with “5” appearing in black) and “54” in black marker on the top barrel. Dyer wore number “5” with the 1977 and 1978 Pittsburgh Pirates and 1979 Montreal Expos. Gossage wore “54” with the Pirates in 1977 and 54 was not issued to anybody on the Pirates in 1978 or the Expos in 1979. Dyer signed this bat on the barrel in black marker. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15387) for the game use and a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (E84987) for the signature.

The next bat is an Adirondack M63 model bat used by Ken Boswell between the 1975 and 1977 seasons. This bat displays heavy game use, has a crack on the handle and some flaking on the finish. There are ball marks and bat rack streaks present on the barrel. The barrel was also taped in a spiral pattern with the tape having been removed. There is a moderate coating of pine tar on the mid-handle and Boswell has signed his name in black marker on the barrel and inscribed “Best Wishes”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15377) for the game use and a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (E84990) for the signature. The next bat in this lot was used by Ken McMullen. This Hillerich & Bradsby R43 model bat displays outstanding use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, cleat imprints and green and blue bat rack streaks present on the barrel. McMullen’s number “2” is hand written in black marker on the knob and there is a moderate coating of pine tar on the handle. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B12693) for the game use.

The next bat is a Hillerich & Bradsby M110 model bat that was issued to Rod Gaspar between the 1977 – 1979 seasons, a few short years after his playing career was over. There is no evidence of game use on this bat and it is un-cracked. Gaspar’s number “17” is hand written in blue marker on the knob. Gaspar signed his name in blue marker on the barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15389) for the game issued status and a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (E84995) for the signature. The final bat in this lot is a game ready Hillerich & Bradsby F141 model bat made for Wayne Garrett. This bat is un-cracked and Garrett’s number “11” is hand written in black marker on the knob and top barrel. Garrett signed his name in black marker on the barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15378) for the game ready status and a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (E84985) for the signature.
