Presented here is a collection of five San Antonio Spurs game used black road jerseys dating to the mid-1980’s. The first jersey, a black road uniform, was worn by John Lucas during the 1983-84 season, his only year with the Spurs. Lucas averaged 10.9 points per game during this season, and set a career high with 10.7 assists per contest. This black jersey has “SAN ANTONIO” and Lucas’ number “15” sewn on the chest in white tackle twill, and “LUCAS” and a second “15” sewn on the back in similar white tackle twill. A Wilson size “42” tag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. This jersey shows light to moderate wear.

The second jersey was worn by journeyman Marc Iavaroni during the 1985-86 season. Iavaroni was traded from the Spurs to the Utah Jazz during January of 1986 after averaging 4.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game for the 1985-86 Spurs. This jersey has “SAN ANTONIO” and Iavaroni’s number “32” sewn on the chest in white tackle twill, with “IAVARONI” and a second “32” sewn on the back in similar white tackle twill. A Russell Athletic size “46” tag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. “85—86” and “+3” are written on the tag in black marker. This jersey shows heavy wear. The third jersey was worn by Tyrone Corbin during the same season. Corbin, a rookie in 1985-86, played in 16 games during his rookie campaign. This jersey has “SAN ANTONIO” and Corbin’s number “23” sewn on the chest in white tackle twill, with “CORBIN” and a second “23” sewn on the back in similar white tackle twill. A Russell Athletic size “44” tag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. “85-86”, “+3”, and four dots are written or drawn on the tag in black marker. Corbin has signed the back of the jersey in black marker, writing his first name on the “2” digit and his surname on the “3”. This item comes with a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signature (C99731).

The fourth jersey was worn by Mychal Thompson, the father of current Golden State Warriors superstar Klay Thompson, during the 1985-86 season. This jersey has “SAN ANTONIO” and Thompson’s number “43” sewn on the chest in white tackle twill, with “THOMPSON” and a second “43” sewn on the back in similar white tackle twill. A Russell Athletic size “44” tag with “+3” and two dots written on the tag in black marker. Thompson has signed the front of the jersey in fine-tip black marker, writing “Mychal 43” on the “4” digit and his surname on the “4”. According to noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema, this is a “probable pre-season jersey, with possible regular season wear”. The final jersey was worn by Mike Mitchell during the 1986-87 season. This jersey has “SAN ANTONIO” and Mitchell’s number “34” sewn on the chest in white tackle twill, with “MITCHELL” and a second “34” sewn on the back in similar white tackle twill. “86”, “2[inch] L.B”, “Sand-Knit”, and Sand-Knit size “44” tags are sewn on the front left tail. A NBA logo patch is sewn on the left shoulder of the jersey. This jersey shows moderate wear. Each jersey in this lot comes with an individual LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
