Presented are five cut signatures from five United States/NASA astronauts who have walked on the surface of the Earth’s Moon. All five of the signatures have been encapsulated by PSA/DNA. Buzz Aldrin has signed a 1 x 3 ¼ inch cut of paper (cut from a National Geographic publication, printed on one side) in blue ink “Buzz Aldrin” underscored in blue (PSA/DNA 83905605). Aldrin was the Lunar Module pilot on the historic flight of Apollo 11, and was one of the first two humans to land on the Moon, as well as the second person to walk on it alongside Commander Neil Armstrong.

Alan Shepard, the second person, and the first American, to travel into space in May 1961 in Project Mercury, has signed a white ¾ x 1 ¾ inch cut paper in blue ink (PSA/DNA 83962909). In 1971, Shepard commanded Apollo 14, and at age 47, he became the fifth, and oldest, person to walk on the Moon, and the only one of the original Mercury Seven astronauts to do so. Jim Irwin has signed in black ink on 1 ½ x 3 inch white paper “Jim Irwin” (PSA/DNA 83938556). Irwin served as the Lunar Module pilot for Apollo 15, and was the eighth man to walk on the Moon.

Astronaut Charlie Duke has signed, in blue ink on 1 ¼ x 3 inch white paper, “Aim High Charlie Duke” (PSA/DNA 83941524). As the Lunar Module pilot for Apollo 16 in 1972, Irwin became the 10th, and youngest, person to walk on the Moon. Astronaut Gene Cernan has signed the 1 x 4 ¾ inch white cut paper in black ink “Gene Cernan,” (PSA/DNA 83941785). Cernan was the 11th and last man to walk on the Moon, as the Commander of Apollo 17.
