Presented is a lot of six vintage signed items, including a Bart Starr signed and inscribed photograph, a Bobby Hull signed photograph and a handwritten letter from Steve Prefontaine. All the signed items are mounted on self-adhesive 9½ x 11-inch cardstock scrapbook pages. The first item in this lot is a Bobby Hull signature in blue pen on a 4 x 6-inch color postcard photograph of the Hockey Hall of Famer in his Chicago Black Hawks uniform. The second item in this lot is a Kareem Abdul-Jabbar secretarial inscription and signature printed on a 4¼ x 5¼ -inch Milwaukee Bucks notecard. The Basketball Hall of Famer has inscribed “Peace, Kareem” in blue pen on the tan notecard.
The third item in this lot is an inscription and signature from former Boston Red Sox relief pitcher Fred Wenz, who has inscribed “To Tom, Best Wishes Fred Wenz” in blue pen on a 3¼ x 5-inch black & white photo card of the player in his Boston uniform. The fourth item in this lot is a handwritten letter from the late American distance runner, Steve Prefontaine. The 1972 U.S. Olympian has inscribed “To Tommy from a friend your grandfather. Sincerely, Steve Prefontaine” in red pen on a 6 x 9-inch off-white sheet. The fifth item in this lot is a handwritten note from former Green Bay Packers cornerback Herb Adderley. The Pro Football Hall of Famer has written four notes on a 6 x 9-inch off-white sheet, dated March 25, 1971. Adderley has inscribed “To my friend Tommy with sincere best wishes, Herb Adderley #26” in blue pen in the upper left corner, and inscribed “”Together we Stand + divided we FALL! #26”” in the lower left corner. At the upper right corner, he has inscribed “Be a good boy! #26”, and in the lower right corner, “Study hard! #26”. The sixth item in this lot is a Bart Starr inscription and signature in blue pen on an 8 x 10-inch black & white publicity photo of the Green Bay Packers quarterback. Starr has inscribed “Hi Tom, Best Wishes Always, Bart Starr” in the lower right corner of the photograph. These come with an auction letter from JSA.
