The first item in this presented lot is an Official National League Leonard S. Coleman baseball signed by Hall of Famer Phil Rizzuto. Having spent over half a century employed by the Bronx Bombers, Phil Rizzuto reserves a special place in the hearts of New York sports fans. Named to 5 All Star Teams.” He spent all 13 of his Major League years patrolling the shortstop slot in the Bronx, before embarking on a broadcasting career that spanned 40 seasons. “RAWLINGS” is stamped in black on the east panel of the baseball, with “CUSHIONED CORK CENTER RO-N” stamped in black on the west panel. Rizzuto signed and inscribed “HOF 94” and his signature broadcast catchphrase “HOLY COW” on the sweet spot of the baseball in blue ink.
