Presented is a Lou Holtz signed and inscribed original shooting script for the 1993 Tri-Star motion picture, "Rudy" starring Sean Astin in the inspirational football movie based on real-life events at the University of Notre Dame. The film, written by Angelo Pizzo and directed by David Anspaugh, is an account of the life of Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger, who harbored dreams of playing football at the University of Notre Dame despite significant obstacles. It was the first film that the Notre Dame administration allowed to be shot on campus since Knute Rockne, All American in 1940. Holtz, at the time of shooting, was head football coach at Notre Dame. He has inscribed, in black marker, on front page of the script "This is the original manuscript for the movie Rudy! Rudy gave it to me to approve. Once I approved it, Father Beauchamp gave the movie co. permission to film the movie Rudy on campus. This is the manuscript I read." Below the statement Holtz has signed his name, also in black marker. The 8 1/2 x 11-inch white paper manuscript is bound with black plastic spiral binding at the left side. This comes with a LOA from Lou Holtz and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
