A 10-time All-Star and 1956 American League Rookie of the Year, “Little Louie” Aparicio’s nine American League Gold Gloves ranks third all-time at the shortstop position behind Ozzie Smith’s 13 and Omar Vizquel’s 11. This commemorative Rawlings Gold Glove Award trophy contains a gold-painted Rawlings glove branded in its pocket with the words: “Rawlings Gold Glove Award” in black and mounted on a solid Oak platform featuring a portrait of Aparicio etched into a metallic gold colored plate with a pair of gold painted Rawlings baseballs supported by golden tripods (one of which has one of its tips broken off) on either side adorned with the familiar red Rawlings logo under each ball. A descriptive name plate celebrates Aparicio’s career-achievement with the years he received the award (1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1964, 1966, 1968, and 1970) written in black on a metallic gold colored plate.
