Offered is the signature of all-time New York Yankees great relief pitcher Mariano Rivera on a replica 2013 Major League Baseball All-Star Game jersey. The 2013 MLB All-Star Game was the 84th edition, held on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Citi Field in Queens, New York City, the home of the New York Mets. This was the first time that the Mets hosted an All-Star Game since 1964, the team's inaugural season at Shea Stadium, and the ninth time the All-Star Game was held in New York City. The game was last held in New York City in 2008, when the old Yankee Stadium hosted it in its final season before being demolished. The Hall of Fame relief pitcher has signed his name in white marker on the “crossbar” of the number “4” (of “42”) on the back of the blue and orange jersey. He has inscribed “Sandman” under his signature.

On the jersey, the 9 x 6-inch numbers are dark blue with light blue stars, bordered in white, with blue and white thread stitching. Rivera’s name is sewn in 3-inch high white letters across the back. The Majestic replica jersey has six blue buttons on the front, with a light blue, white and orange “American” logo patch sewn in. The right sleeve has a red, white and blue Yankees logo patch sewn on, above the orange and blue striped elastic cuff.  The left sleeve has the orange, gray, blue and white 2013 All-Star Game logo patch sewn above the white Majestic logo, above the orange and blue striped elastic cuff.  The neck of the jersey has an orange and blue elastic stripe.  There are orange mesh underarm patches, and orange, white, blue and green MLB Authentic Collection 2013 All-Star Game patch sewn into the front bottom left. In his last appearance as an American League All-Star, Rivera was summoned by AL manager Jim Leyland in the eighth inning to make certain he would pitch. He soaked up a 90-second standing ovation and got three straight outs while helping the American League to a 3-0 victory over the National League. Rivera was named the game’s Most Valuable Player. He was the first reliever selected to an All-Star team to ever receive the award, as well as the first pitcher since Pedro Martínez in 1999 and the second Yankee ever after Derek Jeter in 2000.
