Jackson has signed his name in black marker on the photo of him in a sequined sweater and black bow tie holding his 1989 American Music Award In his left hand. The 16th Annual American Music Awards were held on January 30, 1989 in Los Angeles, and Jackson received a Special Achievement Award in recognition of the success of his 1988 World Tour, the success of his 1987 “Bad” album, and the popularity of his music videos.
