Presented is a Michael Jordan signature on a Chicago White Sox black alternate jersey. Jordan has signed his name in black marker on the white numeral “4” (of the number “45” on the back of the jersey. The numbers are in white and gray tackle twill on the black jersey, below the name “Jordan” in white block letters with gray borders embroidered across the back. The front of the black Rawlings jersey has a white “SOX” logo with gray borders embroidered on the left, with six white plastic buttons.
The number “45” was Jordan’s baseball number, worn both while growing up in North Carolina and during his stint in the minor leagues. He wore it while playing junior varsity basketball, because it was the same number that his older brother, Larry, wore on the varsity team. When Michael finally made the varsity himself, he switched to 23, which was as close to half of 45 as he could get. When MJ returned to the Chicago Bulls in 1995, rather than revert to 23 (which the Bulls had retired at the start of that season), he stayed with 45. This signed jersey comes with a COA from Upper Deck Authenticated (BAG56083).
