The 1997-98 NBA season marked the pinnacle of Michael Jordan’s career. “His Airness” led the Chicago Bulls to a remarkable sixth NBA championship under his watch. Jordan, the greatest basketball player to ever set foot on the court, subsequently took home his sixth finals MVP award. The achievement is captured in this signed special commemorative June 17, 1998 issue of Sports Illustrated, appropriately titled “Crowning Glory.” The cover of the 8x11-inch magazine features an image of Jordan rising to the hoop for a layup during Chicago’s 4-2 series win over Utah. Jordan, who averaged an all-time best 30.1 points per game during his career, signed the cover in bold, black sharpie. A Bulls logo appears in the background of the cover accenting the image of Jordan. The signed magazine comes with a PSA/DNA LOA, certification number I88854.
