Presented is a Mickey Mantle signature and inscription on a replica New York Yankees jersey in a framed display with two color photographs of the Yankees legend. Mantle has signed his name in blue marker on the left front of the Mitchell & Ness Cooperstown Collection reproduction Yankees jersey, below the navy-blue felt interlocking “NY” logo on the chest. Mantle has inscribed “The Commerce Comet” below his signature, also in blue marker. The white flannel jersey with navy-blue pinstripes has a red, white, blue, gold and brown embroidered patch on the left sleeve commemorating the “American League Golden Anniversary 1901-1951.” Mantle, the Hall of Fame superstar of the Yankees teams of the 1950s and 1960s, was from Commerce, Oklahoma, hence his nickname, “The Commerce Comet.” The signed and inscribed jersey is mounted on a navy-blue paper matte with gray borders. At the bottom right of the matte is an 8 x 10-inch color head & shoulder photograph of Mantle with a bat over his right shoulder, while at the bottom left is an 8 x 10-inch color posed photo of Mantle kneeling in the on-deck circle, arms cross and a bat at his right side. The bottom center of the matte has the Yankees interlocking “NY” logo in navy-blue with gray borders. The jersey, photos, logo and matte are displayed in a 34½ x 43-inch black wood and glass frame.
