Painted by renowned artist Robert Simon, who has had his works displayed in museums and at the National Baseball Hall of Fame, painted this picture of a young Mickey Mantle from 1952, based on the patch he put on his left sleeve. Painted in 1987, this full color painting shows Mantle holding his bat over his right shoulder while wearing his navy blue Yankees cap and white pinstripe jersey. With a bright blue sky and some clouds in the background, this stunning piece is museum worthy. Adding to this remarkable piece of art is the double signing of Mantle. Mantle signed his name in bold black marker across his left shoulder and inscribed “NO.7” and “6/4/’88”. Mantle also signed his distinct signature beneath his inscription and it appears the artist has painted over it in black. The painting measures 23 ½ x 30 and has been matted and framed to a dimension of 32 x 38 inches and his housed in a thick black wooden frame. The artist, Robert Simon, signed his name in red paint on the bottom left corner of the piece. This item comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA.
