Presented is a card signed by a pair of all-time New York Yankee greats, Mickey Mantle and Billy Martin.  The white 3 x 4¾-inch index card has the inscription “Best Wishes Mickey Mantle” in black ink, and the signature “Billy Martin” in black ballpoint pen below.  Mantle, the legendary Yankee centerfielder, and Martin, the scrappy second baseman and eventual Yankee manager, were teammates with the New York nine from 1951-1953, and again from 1955-1957.  They were also infamous for their post-game carousing in and around New York, with a notable incident at New York’s Copacabana nightclub leading to Martin’s trade to Kansas City A’s during the 1957 season.  The pair remained lifelong friends through Martin’s Christmas Day, 1989 death.
