Presented is a framed display of two black and white Mickey Mantle photographs by noted photographer Nat Fein. The centerpiece of the display is a 15 ½ x 19-inch black and white photograph by Fein, on which Mantle has signed his name, in silver marker, alongside the image of him signing his new contract on Feb. 4, 1957.  Mantle, in suit and tie, has a pen in his right hand, and is flanked on the left by Yankees manager Casey Stengel, Yankees farm director Lee McPhail Jr. behind him in the center, and Yankees general manager George Weiss at right. The photographer has signed this photo, also in silver marker, at the bottom right corner.

The second photo is a 9 ½ x 12-inch Fein photograph of Mantle, in his suit and tie, later that day hitting a snowball with a bat on the snow-covered Yankee Stadium infield. The photographer has signed his name in the lower right corner in blue ink. The third item in this display is a letter from the curator of “The Photographic Collection of Nat Fein” in which he describes the circumstances behind the two photographs of Mantle. The then-25-year-old Mantle had just completed a triple-crown 1956 Yankees season, and received the largest single-year pay increase ($25,000) in Yankees history.  The display is mounted in gray paper matte in a silver and black metal frame.  This item comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A56177) and is also accompanied by a LOA from the Nat Fein Estate.
