They were known as the M&M Boys, and in 1961 they provided a year’s worth of subject matter for the New York sportswriters of that era. Not only did this potent duo help lead the New York Yankees to another World Series championship, they were neck and neck most of the 1961 season in chasing after babe Ruth’s record of 60 home runs, eventually broken by Maris in the final game of the season. This creamy-toned Spalding “Official” baseball has been signed on the sweet spot by both players; with “Roger Maris” in black felt tip marker and “Mickey Mantle” in blue ink. Full LOA from PSA/DNA, which grades the ball a 5, grades the Maris signature NM-MT 8, grades the Mantle signature NM 7, for an overall grade of 6.5. While we sometimes see Mantle/Maris duel signed baseball, we rarely experience both names on the sweet spot so they can be displayed as one. Tremendous signed Mantle/Maris baseball.
