In the early 1990's Patchett-Kaufman Entertainment developed a television movie for CBS Television about the early life of Mickey Mantle. The script was written by Emmy winner Tom Patchett with the full cooperation of Mr. Mantle. Tom and Mickey traveled together to various places in Oklahoma for research purposes prior to the first draft. This script offered is the original first draft dating to December 17, 1990.

Previously unknown to the public, this original script comes directly from the personal collection of Mickey Mantle’s brother, Roy Mantle.  This television script features a Patchett Kaufman Entertainment three-hole punch cover.  Each cover appears to have some water damage from nearly three decades of storage held together with two brass fasteners.  There are 111 total pages and on approximately 10 pages there are notes written in blue ball point pen in the hand of Mickey Mantle, evidencing that this was his personal copy. Some of the content is extraordinary as Mickey writes a notation, “Someday you’ll be glad!” in the area where he was learning how to hit as a switch hitter.   The handwriting comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AG01672) and the original script also comes with a copy of the letter from Mary Mantle, Mickey's Brother Roy’s Wife.
