The Brooklyn-born, “baddest man on the planet,” was all business when he debuted on the professional boxing circuit in 1985. In November 1986, he defeated Trevor Burbick to win his first heavyweight championship, the youngest ever at 20 years old. His punching power, hand speed, and coordination intimidated opponents and for three years he reigned supreme.
This 51.5-inch, 10-plus pound red-trimmed, black leather World Boxing Association replica belt has been boldly signed and inscribed in vivid silver Sharpie by Hall of Fame boxer Mike Tyson. Across the left side belt he wrote “WBC, WBA, IBF Champ.” Across the right side belt he wrote “HOF 2011,” “50-6 -44KO,” and “Iron” fronting his signed name. The belt is ornamented with the central gold-plated WBA crest, crowned in faux rubies, with red diameter and white center. To the right and left are ruby-crowned, gold-plated place holders. On the back is the Spanish version of the WBA logo. The belt fastens with Velcro and its inner side is white faux fur. A COA from PSA/DNA accompanies this item, authenticating its signature.
