Holiday Auction Closing December 3
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/4/2016
Presented is the famous photograph of Muhammad Ali standing over Sonny Liston. Ali and Liston had a total of two fights, the first of which Ali won, under his birth name Cassius Clay. After their first fight, Ali joined the “Black Muslims” and took the name Muhammad Ali. The second fight was not much different than the first as Ali would remain victorious stopping Liston almost 1 ½ minutes into the first round, demanding he get up from the canvas. This photograph captured the expression on Ali’s face, and has become one of the most well known pictures in sport history. This photograph is matted and framed and stands 21 x 25 inches. Muhammad Ali has signed over his trunks in black ink. This item comes with a full LOA from JSA (Y98034).
