Presented is a Muhammad Ali signature and inscription on a First Day Cover for the U.S. Postal Service 1984 Olympics stamps, in a framed display which includes a large overhead photograph of Ali after he has knocked out challenger Cleveland Williams. Ali has signed the 4 x 6½-inch white standard envelope in blue marker, and inscribed “3 time H.W. Champ after me there will never be another” below his signature. The envelope features two USA Olympics stamps, two stamps from the Republic of Zaire with illustrations of the Ali-George Foreman fight of October 30, 1974, a photo stamp of the 1984 boxing championships at the Los Angeles Olympics and a photo stamp of Ali boxing. The signed and inscribed first day cover is mounted in the upper right corner of a 23 x 23-inch color photograph taken from over the boxing ring moments after Ali has knocked out Williams. Williams is pictured flat on the canvas in the lower right of the photo, while in the upper left Ali is headed to his corner. The ring is framed with rows of sports writers and other media on all four sides. In the lower left corner of the photograph is mounted a ticket to the November 14, 1966 World Heavyweight Championship fight at the Houston Astrodome in Texas. The signed first day cover, ticket and photo are mounted in a black paper matte with red and white border and displayed in a 35 x 35-inch lacquered black wood and glass frame. This item comes with a LOA from JSA.
