The thrilling series of fights between Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali came to a head in the third meeting between the two fighters, dubbed the Thrilla in Manila. Going into this fight, the matchup was tied, with each fighter pocketing one victory. Tensions were high going into the Philippines, where the fight was held, and the sweltering heat only exacerbated the animosity between Ali and Frazier. Billed as “The Saga of Our Lifetime”, the fight lived up to its hype. Ali claimed a hard fought victory over Smokin’ Joe after Frazier’s corner conceded the fight before the beginning of the 15th round.
Presented here is a framed and signed fight poster from the Thrilla in Manila. The poster, painted by acclaimed artist LeRoy Neiman, shows abstract versions of Ali and Frazier. The two fighters signed the bottom of the poster in black marker. Pictures of the two fighters signing this item are also included in the framed display. The frame measures 24 x 36 inches. This item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AB12543).
