Willie Randolph was a standout player for the New York Yankees. A member of the 1977 and 1978 World Series-winning teams, Randolph was a steady presence at second base and at the plate. Randolph finished his career with 2,210 hits.
Randolph was presented with this 14 x 18-inch wood plaque from the New York Daily News in honor of him being selected as the Player Of The Month for April 1986. This plaque has a metallic silver-plated front that has a cartoon etching of Randolph’s profile picture and an action shot of him making a play in the infield. “DAILY NEWS Yankee of the Month:” is printed at the top and in big print below is “WILLIE RANDOLPH. The aforementioned images are below the print with “Bill Gallo ©” on the lower left and printed below that is “Willie Randolph was picked as April Yankee of the Month by the sportswriters of the New York Daily News.” The back is covered in green felt and this award is overall good condition with some abrasion marks on the silver portion. This item derives from the collection of Willie Randolph and a signed LOA from Willie Randolph will accompany this item.
