Offered is a limited-edition New York Yankees captains multi-signed home Yankees jersey with five signatures, including Hall of Fame Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, Don Mattingly, Ron Guidry, Graig Nettles and Willie Randolph, in a framed display. All five signatures are in black marker below the navy-blue interlocking “NY” logo on the left chest, in order, Nettles, Mattingly, Guidry, Randolph and Jeter. There have been 15 captains of the New York Yankees since 1891 (when they were known as the Highlanders). The position is currently vacant after the most recent captain, Jeter, retired after the 2014 season, after 12 seasons as team captain. Jeter was named as the 11th officially recognized captain of the Yankees in 2003. Notably, Lou Gehrig was captain from 1935 to 1939, followed by Thurman Munson from 1976 to 1979. Later Yankees captains include Nettles (1982-1984), Randolph (1986-1988), Guidry (1986-1988) and Mattingly (1991-1995). The white Russell Athletic jersey with navy-blue pinstripes has a small “R” logo embroidered in navy-blue on the left sleeve. This jersey is inscribed “66/100” in black marker in the lower left flap. The jersey is mounted in a white matte with black background and navy accent and displayed in a 41 x 42-inch black wood with glass frame.
