The Dodgers and the Yankees have one of the longest running rivalries in baseball. It started in 1941, when the two New York based teams met in the World Series. This would occur 10 more times, more than any other American League vs National League matchup. A plethora of stars have played in this rivalry, from Joe DiMaggio to Sandy Koufax. Although their last World Series meeting was in 1981, this rivalry is still one of the fiercest in baseball.

Over 100 members of the Dodgers and Yankees throughout the years have signed this commemorative Louisville Slugger bat. This includes Hall of Famers Dave Winfield, Enos Slaughter, Sandy Koufax, Dick Williams, Tom Lasorda, Phil Rizzuto, Whitey Ford, Don Drysdale, Yogi Berra, Catfish Hunter, Don Sutton, Duke Snider, Pee Wee Reese, Johnny Mize, Reggie Jackson, and Sandy Koufax.

Other signatures include Bobby Murcer, Allie Reynolds, Ed Lopat, Steve Howe, Frank Crosetti, Orel Hershiser, Sparky Lyle, Bob Cerv, Moose Skowron, Cliff Johnson, Carl Erskine, Don Larsen, Tony Kubek, Larry Sherry, Randy Gumpert, John Sain, Preacher Roe, Norm Siebern, Jack Phillips, Eddie Robinson, Tom Sturdivant, Bill Stafford, Allie Clark, Johnny Schmidtz, Willie Randolph, Bill Johnson, Tommy Holmes, Johnny Blanchard, Bob Wiesler, Brian Doyle, Harry Taylor, Marv Rackley, George “Shotgun” Shuba, George Cisar, Bob Aspromonte, Bobby Brogan, Ralph Branca, Joe Pepitone, Duane Pillette, Gene Hermanski, Clete Boyer, Lee Pfund, Tommy Brown, Jack Banta, Freddie Sanford, Pete Coscarart, Al Downing, Don Thompson, Don Newcombe, Dick White, Ralph Houk, Wally Moon, Jim Hughes, Roger Craig, Johnny Davis, Joe Black, Tom Henrich, Roy White, Lou Piniella, Hank Sauer, Spider Jorgensen, Ryne Duren, Herman Franks, and several more.

Interestingly, Joan Lombardi, the wife of the late Gil Hodges, signed this bat on behalf of her husband. She signed as “Mrs. Gil Hodges”. The signatures on this bat are written in blue and black marker. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (Y16758).
