Offered is a Nolan Ryan signature on an original Arlington Stadium chair. Over a record 27-year Major League Baseball career, Ryan pitched for the New York Mets, California Angels, Houston Astros, and Texas Rangers. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999. The all-time leader in no-hitters with seven, three more than any other pitcher, Ryan had a lifetime record of 324–292 (.526) and was an eight-time MLB All-Star. His 5,714 career strikeouts are an MLB record by a significant margin.
The Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher has signed his name in white marker on the seat back of the 20 x 26-inch brown plastic stadium seat, which is intact including the two steel posts that were once bolted to concrete at the former home of the Texas Rangers baseball club. There is dirt from construction and use present on both the seat and the posts. The posts are at an angle, so that the seat cannot be seated flat outside of its original configuration. There is a silver metal plaque labelled “1” in black, affixed to the upper right corner of the seat back. During that period, the Rangers called Arlington Stadium their home; in fact, the ballpark closed in 1993, the year Ryan retired. This item comes with a LOA from the Texas Rangers and a LOA from JSA.
