Presented is a Norman Rockwell signed limited edition lithograph of the famed American artist’s illustration “The Village Smith” from the famed “Poor Richard’s Almanac” folio from 1976. The artist has signed his name in gray graphite pencil in the lower right corner of the archival paper print, which depicts three characters in period clothing in a blacksmith's shop. One character is melting iron in the background, while one large man is holding mallet that is resting on an anvil, while the third character is in colonial clothing holding paper. The 19½ x 26-inch ivory sheet is inscribed “106/200” in the lower left corner in gray graphite pencil. A total of 295 prints of this kind were produced for a folio edition. A set of 200 were numbered. Another set of 35 were Artist Proofs numbered with Roman numerals. A set of 60 were unnumbered. All of the prints made were signed in pencil by Rockwell. Printed on handmade Velin d’Arches paper at Atelier Mourlot in Paris. This comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication.
