Known as the most iconic card of the collecting world, Superstar Street/Pop Art Artist “Yedi” adds his artistic touch to the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle Rookie Card, one of the most sought-after cards known to exist. Using an integration of POP art with the red-hot card collecting, this should be an amazing investment in its own right. Never has this been done before, making Yedi the ONLY original. Yedi has made the classic card come to life in a modern feel. Common in the high-end pop art genre, Mickey Mouse is often referenced. After some research, no one has ever noted that Mickey Mantle and Mickey Mouse are clearly close as far as their names. Could this also be part of the reason why Mickey was so adored? Adding to the pop art feature of the piece is the Mickey Mouse ears on the Yankees logo which ties the most famous Mickeys off all time together. The Mantle signature has the likeness of the Disney font. Under the signature you can also see the ink overlay print imperfections that were on every one of these cards. You will also notice the cartoon bat and hat. This piece also takes a contemporary design by adding the New York skyline in the background. Adding Mantle's career stats as the serial number, no detail was overlooked. The borders show aging coloration or age discoloration to give a “vintage” look as the actual cards themselves. This beautiful piece of art includes a custom-made 29 x 52-inch frame highlighting the slabbed feel that Mantle cards most often come in, a work of art in itself. Taking over a year in development and hundreds of hours to complete, only the highest quality canvas and paints were used. Everything was made to scale. The colors are exquisite and truly remarkable in person. The piece is two separate canvases, signed on the front and has a hologram, notarized, and numbered on the reverse.
