Orville Wright, one half of the Wright Brothers and a founder of modern aviation, has signed this City National Bank check. Wright made this check out to the Dayton Power and Light Company, and it is for the value of $4.72. The check was signed on March 19th, 1923, just less than 20 years after Orville and Wilbur’s successful Wright Flyer flight in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Wright has signed his name in bold black pen. Please note that the check has been stamped “Paid”, however Wright’s signature is wholly unaffected. This check has been authenticated by PSA/DNA, who have graded Wright’s signature a stunning MINT 9 (AF07472).
