Presented is an autograph by Aviation pioneer Orville Wright on a black and white photographic image of the first manned flight by the Wright Brothers. The autograph is in black ink to the bottom left of the photo, which is captioned “First Man-Flight December 17, 1903, Kitty Hawk, N.C.” The 4 ½ x 6 ¼ inch signed photo is black on white card stock, and is mounted on a white cardstock 7 x 10 inch sheet by black paper corner mounts. Beneath the mounted photo in black type script is the legend “Name: - Orville Wright Achievement:-Orville Wright with his brother Wilbur succeeded in being the first to fly the heavier than air craft.” The Wright Brothers were two American Brothers, inventors and aviation pioneers who are credited with inventing, building and flying the world’s first successful airplane. They made that first controlled, sustained flight of a powered, heavier-than-air aircraft on December 17, 1903, four miles south of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
