Strangely enough, considering what a fire-breathing metal band they would become, Pantera started out as a more mellow act. Formed in Arlington, Texas by the Abbott brothers, drummer Vinnie Paul, and guitarist Dimebag Darrell, along with vocalist Terry Glaze in 1981. Pantera picked up bassist Rex Brown a year later. Deciding to go in a much heavier direction, Pantera dispatched Glaze and hired Phil Anselmo in 1987. During the 1980s, Pantera released four albums, but it wasn't until the 1990's heavier sounding "Cowboys From Hell" that things started to click. Upping the ante further, Pantera pulled out all the stops in 1992's "Vulgar Display of Power". Their shows were sweaty, full-on mosh pits, and Pantera's rabid fan base was growing stronger. This continued on until 1995 when the band started having issues surrounding Anselmo's addiction to heroin. They released two albums through this turmoil, eventually taking a break in 2001. In 2004, Dimebag was shot and killed while performing onstage with the Abbott brothers' newly found Damgeplan, ending any hope of a Pantera reunion. Offered here is an incredible Flying "V" electric guitar signed by four members of the beloved metal group - Rex Brown, Vinnie Bowl, Phil Anselmo, and most rare of all, Dimebag Darrell. Instruments of any sort signed by the band are rare, and those with Dimebag are especially big-ticket items! In fine condition and accompanied by a full LOA from JSA (X61198).
