After struggling with control problems for the first five years of his career, it all came together for future Hall of Fame pitcher Randy Johnson with the Seattle Mariners in 1993. After leading the league in walks the previous three years “The Big Unit,” led the league with a career-high-to-date 308 strikeouts. Johnson wore this size-48, button-down, gray with dark blue trim, Russell Athletic Seattle Mariners road jersey, the first year of a new style for the team, during the 1993 season. This jersey shows signs of moderate wear and has Johnson’s name stitched on to a name plate arching across the back in dark blue on teal tackle twill above his number 51 in the same color scheme. Seattle is sewn across the front in dark blue, teal and white tackle twill. A Seattle Mariners silver-star and baseball logo patch is attached to Johnson’s throwing left-arm sleeve and small Russell Athletic logo patch on the right sleeve. Russell Athletic/Authentic Diamond Collection manufactures label is on the left front tail with “1993” patch and “5” Extra Body Length” tag attached; comes with full letter of authenticity from game worn jersey expert Dave Miedema.
