On April 15, 1947, Jackie Robinson changed the game of baseball forever. Paving the way for other ethnicities to play in the Major Leagues, Robinson broke baseball's color barrier when he started at 1st base for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Playing through racial hate and death threats, Robinson stayed calm and let his play do the talking. Robinson would go on to win the batting title and National League Most Valuable Player Award just two years later. By the time his career was over, Robinson was a 6-time all-star and World Series champion that won over the hearts of millions of fans across the country. Jackie was inducted into Cooperstown in 1962 and his number 42 that graced his back during his impressive nine year career will never be worn again in the Majors.

This green pennant features Jackie Robinson in a batting pose. This pennant is incredibly rare, as it shows Robinson’s position as being first base,  the only season Robinson played first base was 1947, his rookie season with the Dodgers. The pennant has "BROOKLYN DODGERS" printed in white, with "Jackie Robinson 1st Baseman" printed in gold beneath his picture. The end has a yellow strip with a pair of two tassells on each end. Robinson hit .297 during the 1947 season, with 48 RBI and a league-leading 29 stolen bases, earning him the Rookie of the Year. This pennant measures 11 ½ inches wide and 28 inches long. This pennant is in extraordinarily NEAR MINT condition, and represents one of the finest examples of its type.
