Roberto Clemente was nothing less than a monumental superstar. He was considered a national hero and was idolized by all the young players watching him. Clemente's effect was not only felt in the hearts of the Puerto Rican people; his impact is still being felt in MLB today. Roberto showcased some of the best talent that Puerto Rico could offer and paved the way for thousands of players to follow his lead. He broke through the cultural barrier in the MLB and made Puerto Rican baseball players respected.
This famous 5 x 8-inch vibrant color print features a portrait of Clemente kneeling in his Pirates uniform with his baseball bat and glove. The tropical scenery is either that of his homeland of Puerto Rico or perhaps a southern Florida Spring training destination captured prior to the start of a Major League season. The print has been signed boldly in black in and remains un-personalized which was often a trait found on Clemente’s signed photographs. In addition, Clemente penned the open-ended salutation, “Best Wishes” and the print has been framed in a high-quality cherry wood with a black and gold double matte. The piece comes with a full LOA from JSA for the authentication of the signature.
