Pittsburgh Pirates legend and Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente has signed and inscribed this index card. Clemente, a native of Puerto Rico, starred for the Pirates from 1955 to 1972, leading the Buccos to two World Series titles and laying claim to the 1966 National League MVP award. A member of the 3,000 Hit Club, Clemente batted .317 across his career while winning four National League batting titles and 12 Gold Gloves. Sadly, Clemente is remembered by many for his tragic passing on New Year’s Eve of 1972 while attempting a humanitarian mission to Nicaragua after the Central American country suffered a catastrophic earthquake. Clemente has signed this offered index card in red fiber-tip marker. He inscribed “Best Wishes” above his signature. This index card comes with a LOA from JSA (X73350).
