The former single-season home run record holder Roger Maris has signed this offered index card. Maris shot to fame as a member of the New York Yankees in the early 1960’s, winning the 1960 and 1961 American League MVP awards as he blasted moonshots over the Yankee Stadium fences. Maris hit 39 homers with 112 RBI in 1960 prior to his renowned home run arms race with Mickey Mantle in the 1961 season. While Mantle fell off the record pace by the end of the season, Maris hit his then-record 61st home run of the season in the last game of the year, a 1-0 win over the Boston Red Sox. Maris has signed this offered index card in blue pen. This item comes with a LOA from JSA.
