Presented is Roger Maris signature on a black and white photo of the great New York Yankee hitting his historic 61st home run on October 1, 1961. Maris has signed his name in black ink in the lower left of the photo, which captures him just after he hit that milestone homer. The 8 x 8-inch photo is mounted in a light brown paper matte and displayed in a 11 ½ x 14 ½-inch black metal frame. Below the photo on the matte is a gold sticker with black printing “Roger Maris Hitting 61st Home Run October 1, 1961”. Maris broke the single-season home record of 60 that was set by Babe Ruth in the 1927 season. He set the new record in the fourth inning of the last game of the season, at Yankee Stadium in front of 23,154 fans. This photo comes with a full LOA from JSA (BB30796).
