Offered is a Roger Maris signature on a vintage 7 x 9-inch black & white publicity photo of the former New York Yankees outfielder with a bat over his right shoulder, a catcher in full gear at his lower right over home plate. Maris has signed his name in black pen on his right leg. Maris played 12 years in the majors and was a member of the New York Yankees from 1960 through 1966. He was the American League MVP in 1960 and 1961 with the Yanks and played for Yankees teams that won the World Series in 1961 and 1962. Most notably, he broke Babe Ruth’s single-season home run record, 60, by hitting 61 during the 1961 season, a record which stood until 1998. This item comes with a LOA from JSA.
