“Sweet” Lou Dunbar wore this Harlem Globetrotters jersey during his illustrious career with basketball’s most entertaining team. A 6’9” point forward, Dunbar played three seasons collegiately with the Houston Cougars from 1972 to 1975, averaging over 22 points, seven rebounds, and four assists per game. He played 27 seasons with the Globetrotters, and today serves as a coach and their Director of Player Personnel.
This blue Globetrotters jersey has “HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS” appearing on the front, with “Harlem” sewn on in red and white tackle twill and “Globetrotters” sewn beneath in yellow tackle twill. Dunbar’s number “41” is sewn on the chest and back in white and red tackle twill. “DUNBAR” is sewn across the back shoulders in red and white tackle twill. Four red and yellow stars are sewn on the chest and back of this jersey. The collar and sleeves are accented with a red and white band. A Wilson size “46” tag with an attached “3[inch] Longer” flag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. This tag represents the style tagging used between 1974 and 1978 and Dunbar joined the Globetrotters in 1976. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
