Offered is a fully restored turnstile from Shibe Park, later known as Connie Mack Stadium, one of baseball's most classic baseball stadiums. Built as the first concrete and steel baseball stadium, Shibe Park housed the Philadelphia A’s from 1909 to 1954, the Philadelphia Phillies from 1938-1970, after which the park was finally closed. It also housed various Philadelphia area professional football team including the Eagles.
Originating from the collection of Paul Hill, one of the hobby's legendary early memorabilia collectors, this 36 x 42-inch full functioning turnstile has been fully restored to its original look including the bottom pedal, and is one of twelve turnstiles installed in 1909. Vintage turnstiles are exceedingly rare, much more so than their stadium seat counterparts. Imagine the look on your guests faces when they would have to walk through the turnstile to enter your home sports shrine. Due to the size and weight or this lot, shipping charges may be substantial.
